The launch of the Space Shuttle yesterday, reminded of some old photo’s I took of the Space Shuttle’s first visit to the UK back in the eighties. Like many young people I was fortunate enough to grow up during the height of the Apollo Space Programme, and spent many late nights and tense moments watching the various missions on the TV. I came across this one, the Shuttle mounted on top of NASA’s 747 of the time. Space Shuttle shortly after touchdown at RAF Fairford I was in the RAF stationed at Brize Norton, and I wanted a shot for the station magazine. It still amazes me today... [Read the full story]
